'The Proposal' is a romantic comedy movie released in 2009.

Gender:(Young Female and Male) Young couples the movie's genre is romantic therefor it  addresses young couples.

Age:15-35 years old

Ethnicity- mostly targeted at white females and males as the actors are both white.

Socio-economic group-BC1C2E because both character in the movie work in a professional place which represents B social groups as they all work in a office. I chose c1 and c2 because they might find this movie romantic and funny wheras group A are more likely to like more informative movie. Finally E represents students as 50% of the target audience are students.

The background is in white which connotes pure, innocence , truth, ..etc this may connote the pure love between them, or maybe to make the central image stand out from the plain white black so everyone can forcus mainly on the images. In addition 'PROPOSAL' is in red which connotes Love, Romantic, passion..etc the use of red may show bring out the romanticness of the movie in the poster. Also the image protrays anternative ideology as the woman is presented as proposaling her love to the man this may symbolise to the audience the comedy part of the movie.

The stranger is a horror and thriller movie released in 2008.

Age- 21-40

Gender- Young couple, as the movie is about a young couple staying in for vacation.

Ethnicty- Mostly white

socio-economic group- ABC maybe E, as i mentioned before this movie is targeted at young couples doesnt really matter if they are in lower or higher class because its targeted at them indiviually.

Rubicam's psychographic profile must be an Explorer as the movie is abotu exploring the message behind it.

'the strangers' is presented with a white font which stands out fromt the dark background which connotes danger, death, evil, mystery..etc. The's a ghost or a 'stanger' behind the lady immediatly creates tension which shows that the movie is about horror. The central image shows the settign of the movie to getthe audience thinking.

  1. Well done - you have deconstructed the texts and considered the target audiences. It is good to see you identifying alternative ideology and noticing that this contributes to the humour within the film. If the alternative ideology is presented as funny, does this suggest that the film is really presenting dominant ideology??
